12 St is about the center line of the Third Runway.
The plan was for over 165 feet of fill to be dumped on this road in the low areas. The Port estimated around 14 million cubic yards but the total Master Plan Project is closer to 29 million cubic yards if you use customary swell/compaction figures and estimate the soil that needs to be excavated. Final number was 17 million COMPACTED.

This 135 foot tall mechnacially stabilized wall (MSE) wall is the second highest in the world. About 20 feet of mostly peat had to be excavated before fill could be trucked in by 500000 trucks. The orange by the wall is a flagger.
It is a shame the Pollution Control Board did not require it to survive the big quake projected for the area - But then it would probabaly have been a concrete dam.
